The outstanding design is heavily embodied with different floral designs. This shape of the cross is mostly present with Orthodox Christians. The pattern of the cross is part of Eastern European folk culture.

The pattern is particularly close to monasteries of central Balkan region. Monasteries date from 7th century AD. The most present pattern in the Metohija region. The region carries its name from the Greek word Metoh, which means “the land of monasteries”. It's considered as a sacred land for Orthodox Christians. And this pattern is part of the art that is present in monasteries.

Cross is the symbol of Christianity, undoable most recognizable symbol for the Christian religion.
